Chloé Reaffirms Its “Bohemian Chic” Essence for Summer

Paris – In a display of creativity and freshness, designer Chemena Kamali has made her triumphant entry at Paris Fashion Week with her second collection for Chloé, thus solidifying a return to the “bohemian chic” roots that have characterized the brand since its inception. This runway show, held in a bright and sunny atmosphere, captured the essence of a summer that promises to be vibrant and full of life.

The color palette selected for Spring-Summer 2025 manifests through an elegant combination of white, black, and beige—fundamental elements that resonate with Chloé’s heritage. However, the designer did not forget what made the brand a benchmark of “hippie” style: the iconic floral prints. These patterns, evoking freedom and a connection to nature, have been reinterpreted with a contemporary freshness that keeps tradition alive.

The designs presented were a celebration of femininity and freedom of movement. The dresses, wide and airy, are characterized by their transparency, giving them an ethereal and romantic air. The skirts, with evaseé cuts and some asymmetrical, challenge traditional conventions, presenting silhouettes that are both bold and elegant, with a play of lengths that creates a dynamic effect: short in front, with long trains that add drama.

The collection also incorporated more fitted elements, such as the body-hugging mesh bodysuits that subtly embrace the figure, creating a contrast with the loose silhouettes of other garments. Complementing this bohemian look, large sunglasses styled from the 1970s added a retro touch, while in cooler climates, Chloé women wrap themselves in oversized XX-Large fur coats with a pleated design that adds sophistication and character.

Feet are adorned with delicate pastel-colored plastic sandals, a choice that reflects a carefree and joyful aesthetic. As for accessories, braided bags and large leather totes perfectly complement the collection, providing functionality without sacrificing style.

In her show notes, artistic director Chemena Kamali commented on the choice of fabrics, which are deliberately sun-faded, washed, and worn, in an effort to merge the carefully crafted with the simple and authentic. This choice of materials reinforces the connection to a bohemian lifestyle, where comfort and elegance coexist harmoniously.

Kamali expressed her desire to “capture that yearning for summer and the way summer makes you feel: (…) sensual, joyful.” This statement resonates deeply with Chloé’s philosophy, which has always sought to reflect the vibrancy and freedom of women in their style.

Chemena Kamali, who took the helm of Chloé earlier this year after the departure of talented Uruguayan designer Gabriela Hearst, is clearly in tune with the spirit of the brand and its legacy.
