The first electric vehicle from Rolls-Royce is also the most luxurious on the market, with a starting price of €400,000, and it already has a waiting list until 2025.
The electrification of the automotive industry has brought advancements that would have seemed unimaginable a decade ago. An electric Rolls-Royce? The brand, a symbol of extreme luxury in the golden age of combustion engines, has taken a step into the future with its first fully electric model: the Rolls-Royce Spectre.
However, looking back at history, this evolution isn’t as surprising. In 1900, Charles Stewart Rolls, co-founder of the brand, had already predicted the potential of electric cars, highlighting their silence, cleanliness, and their future utility when charging stations became a reality. Today, more than a century later, his words are coming to fruition.
The Spectre is not only the first electric Rolls-Royce, but it also represents a significant shift for the brand: by 2030, the entire lineup will be fully electric. This ultra-luxury super coupé perfectly combines cutting-edge technology with the performance and comfort characteristic of the British brand, offering a unique driving experience with its “Decentralized Intelligence” system, which optimizes information exchange between the vehicle’s functions to enhance the famous “magic carpet ride.”
Built on the exclusive Architecture of Luxury platform, designed from the outset to incorporate an electric powertrain, the Spectre is true to Rolls-Royce’s commitment to an uncompromising electric future. Equipped with two electric motors, it delivers a combined 584 hp and 900 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Additionally, it boasts a range of 530 km and a fast charging time of 34 minutes (from 10% to 80%).
Its design, inspired by contemporary art, haute couture, and nautical influences, features standout elements like the “Pantheon” grille, the widest ever on a Rolls-Royce, and the redesigned “Spirit of Ecstasy” figure, with a more aerodynamic profile, perfected through 830 hours of design modeling and wind tunnel testing. Inside, the luxury continues with Starlight doors, adorned with 4,796 softly illuminated “stars,” and the fascia, featuring over 5,500 points of light, creating a celestial ambiance.
This combination of luxury and technology has led to such high demand that the Spectre won’t be available until 2025. With a starting price of €400,000, the Rolls-Royce Spectre cements its place as a masterpiece of modern automotive engineering, attracting those fortunate enough to seek the pinnacle of electric futures without compromising classic luxury.
