Following New York, Madrid, and London Fashion Weeks, Milan Fashion Week is set to begin on Tuesday, September 17. This renowned event will transform Milan into the global fashion capital until Monday, September 23, showcasing a diverse lineup of 40 designers and brands from around the world.
Organized by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) with support from the Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce and the Asociación Creadores de Moda de España (ACME), this year’s Milan Fashion Week promises an expanded schedule. For the first time, the event will feature runway shows starting from the opening day, which previously only included welcome ceremonies and institutional events. This year’s opening includes the launch of the CNMI’s “Fashion Hub,” which will host a range of conferences, events, and presentations from brands such as Chez Nous, Hikari No Yami, Maragno, Oh Carla, Pecoranera, Plas Collective, Reclothing Bank, and Susan Wagner, as part of the “Designers for The Planet” initiative.
The official schedule highlights the latest women’s collections for Spring/Summer 2025. A total of 142 fashion houses and designers will present their work, including 54 through traditional runway shows, eight in exclusively digital formats, and 80 through alternative presentation methods aimed at engaging buyers and securing commercial deals.
The week will kick off with Fendi’s inaugural runway show on Tuesday, followed by presentations from Marni, Alberta Ferretti, Boss, Jil Sander, and Etro, which will showcase Marco De Vincenzo’s efforts to relaunch the brand. Prada, Maison Margiela’s MM6 line, and Moschino, under new creative director Adrian Appiolaza, will also feature prominently. Emporio Armani will close Thursday’s shows with a double presentation, as the brand opts to present the Giorgio Armani collection in New York on October 17.
Friday will see Tod’s, led by new creative director Matteo Tamburini, followed by Gucci, Missoni, Elisabetta Franchi, and Versace. On Saturday, Ferrari, Ferragamo, and Bally—marking Simone Bellotti’s debut as Bally’s creative director—will take the stage, along with Dolce&Gabbana, Diesel, Bottega Veneta, and Philipp Plein.
Sunday, September 22, will feature runway shows from Adreadamo, Hui, Avavav, Francesca Liberatore, Rave Review, and Chiccomao. The day will conclude with the CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2024.
The final day, Monday, September 23, will be dedicated to digital-only presentations from eight fashion houses, closing the Milan Fashion Week and paving the way for Paris Fashion Week, which will run from September 23 to October 1, 2024.
