Rihanna Shines as the New Face of Dior J’adore L’Or Fragrance – Dior’s J’adore perfume has become a modern icon, represented over the years by some of the world’s most recognizable figures, from ’90s supermodel Carmen Kass to award-winning actress Charlize Theron, who has been the face of the scent for two decades. Now, under the creative direction of perfume maestro Francis Kurkdjian, Dior ushers in a new chapter for J’adore with none other than global superstar Rihanna as the latest ambassador.

Rihanna, a longtime friend of the Dior brand, first collaborated with the fashion house in 2015 for the Secret Garden campaign. Today, she returns to the iconic grounds of Versailles, captured by the esteemed photographer Steven Klein, for the latest interpretation of J’adore: L’Or Essence de Parfum.

“Bringing Rihanna and J’adore together at Versailles was an inspiring challenge,” Klein shares with Bazaar. “We had a glimpse of what was possible with the ‘Secret Garden’ film in 2015, but this time, the atmosphere was different—more mysterious and nocturnal. With J’adore, the focus was on gold and light.”

Klein’s vision masterfully blends the elegance of 18th-century classicism with Rihanna’s striking contemporary beauty. “This film creates a new world that connects different eras and styles, achieving a universal appeal that is both natural and radiant,” he adds.

The campaign beautifully captures the essence of J’adore L’or, Kurkdjian’s luxurious take on the beloved fragrance. While retaining the original’s rich floral notes, J’adore L’or elevates them with a higher concentration and a burst of orange blossom, adding a golden luminosity to the composition.

Fittingly, the campaign is drenched in gold, featuring Rihanna walking through the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. “It’s a dream in gold,” says Rihanna. “J’adore is intrinsically linked to gold—in its color, its bottle, its image. There’s no place in the world where you’re surrounded by more gold than at Versailles.”

Through Klein’s lens, Rihanna’s captivating presence shines. “Rihanna possesses a unique quality that transcends beauty and talent in a truly extraordinary way,” Klein remarks. “With J’adore, she becomes a living goddess, a queen in her realm, embodying the regal essence of a fragrance that resonates with women worldwide.”

Rihanna also reflects on her collaboration with Klein, expressing admiration for his artistic passion. “Despite all he’s achieved, he still has this pure, child-like enthusiasm for his work,” she shares. “It’s a joy to collaborate with artists like him.”

Returning to Versailles with Dior and Klein holds special significance for Rihanna. “Versailles is magical—every detail is breathtaking,” she says. “Wandering through its halls early in the morning was a privilege and an unforgettable experience from start to finish.”
