The 80th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid concluded last night, with a day dedicated to showcasing young Spanish designers and the presentation of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent award to the Madrid-based label Alejandre.
Madrid Fashion Week came to an end yesterday with the final day of the MBFW, featuring runway shows held at IFEMA. Emerging Spanish designers gathered to present their Spring-Summer 2025 collections, which once again highlighted the importance of sustainability through upcycling and gender-fluid garments.
From the stunning rooftop view, students from the TELVA & YoDona Master’s in Fashion and Beauty Communication had the privilege of witnessing the closing runways of this 80th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. They enjoyed discovering new Made-in-Spain talent, attending the shows of four standout brands from the final day: MAL Studio Custom Project, Anamingo, Alejandre, and Karlo Módenes.
The day culminated in the awarding of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent prize to Alejandre, marking the 24th edition of the award. Sandra, the Madrid-based designer behind the brand, launched her fashion business in December 2020. Almost four years later, she has dressed globally recognized celebrities such as Bad Gyal, Dua Lipa, Karol G, and Nathy Peluso, among others.
The jury, composed of experts like designer Isabel Sanchis, fashion journalists Elena Muñoz and Isabel Jiménez, and Beatriz Guerrero, director of the Telva & Yo Dona Master’s in Fashion and Beauty Communication, praised Alejandre for “the maturity and evolution displayed in her third runway show,” as well as the balance between the brand’s distinct identity and commercial potential.
Alejandre’s Spring-Summer 2025 collection, CORE, draws inspiration from the connection between artists’ personal and professional lives, focusing on individual expression. It stands as a bold statement of uniqueness against the world, deconstructing conventional dress codes with a personal twist.
The brand’s signature lingerie-inspired aesthetic is present throughout the collection, with garments created from classic patterns, reinterpreted through Alejandre’s distinct style. Styling plays a crucial role in shaping the silhouettes, with layered pieces and contrasting styles taking center stage. Sandra skillfully disrupts and redefines modern femininity with energy and creativity.
The MBFW audience celebrated a day full of fashion and creativity, witnessing the emergence of strong, young Spanish talent that is poised to make waves and has a bright future ahead.
