The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is celebrating the launch of its second luxury superyacht, Ilma, which embarked on its maiden voyage on September 2. The journey took guests from Monte Carlo to Rome over a seven-day Mediterranean cruise, kicking off a busy inaugural season that will feature 55 sailing itineraries across the Mediterranean and Caribbean through October 2025.
Jim Murren, Executive Chairman and CEO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, expressed his excitement about the fleet’s expansion, stating, “The addition of Ilma marks a continuation of our mission to deliver legendary service and unparalleled enjoyment to our guests.”
Unparalleled Luxury at Sea
Ilma, named after the Maltese word for water, boasts 224 suites and accommodates up to 448 guests. The 790-foot yacht was designed by top industry firms to offer an exceptional guest experience, featuring ocean-view terraces, a beach club, entertainment stages, multiple pools, gyms, an 11-room spa, seven bars, and five dining venues, two of which are helmed by Michelin-starred chefs Fabio Trabocchi and Michael Mina.
Jenni Benzaquen, Senior Vice President of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and Bvlgari Hotels and Resorts, emphasized the yacht’s role in setting new benchmarks for luxury travel. “Ilma brings the exceptional luxury accommodations and personalized service for which The Ritz-Carlton brand is renowned to the sea, further redefining standards in the luxury industry,” she said.
Ilma’s debut season will include stops in cities like Athens, Barcelona, San Juan, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Lisbon, and Fort Lauderdale. Another vessel, Luminara, is set to join the fleet in December 2025, expanding The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s reach into the Asia Pacific region.
